The Forage & Flourish Contemporary Music Festival is a new music event presented in partnership with the City of Alpharetta, GA, with concerts featuring internationally acclaimed artists showcasing music written exclusively by living, powerful composers, two student workshops, and an event for children.
The Student Workshops will provide high school youth in the community with an opportunity to learn from and engage with top music faculty from institutions all over the country while preparing several new works and discussing contemporary performance techniques, college preparation, and more. Our Children’s Workshop will be a fantastic opportunity to introduce younger children (and their parents!) to contemporary music through interactive performance and group engagement.
Concerts will take place throughout Downtown Alpharetta, and workshops will be held at the Alpharetta Arts Center. Two brand new works written by Flannery Cunningham (Philadelphia-based composer) and Peter Van Zandt Lane (The University of Georgia) will receive a premiere during this event, and the composers will be in attendance (virtually, if not in person). These concerts will be free and open to the public.
